OECON – Innovative Partner in German Gaia-X Hub

oecon-gaia-x-0922OECON Products & Services supports the European project Gaia-X with an innovative, data-centered traffic management and traffic optimization services for the integration of autonomous vehicles into our daily traffic context.

With Gaia-X, representatives from business, science and politics are developing a sustainable contribution to shaping the next generation of a European data infrastructure at an international level. The goal is a secure and networked data infrastructure that meets the highest standards of digital sovereignty and promotes innovation. In an open and transparent digital ecosystem, data and services should be made available, merged, shared and used in a trustworthy manner. (~ BMWK)

The members of the German Gaia-X Hub are organized in different domains. One of them is the domain “Mobility”. Within this domain, the project family “Gaia-X 4 Future Mobility” is located. This in turn is subdivided into various subprojects. The “Gaia-X 4 Future Mobility” project family includes, among others, the sub-project Gaia-X 4 Advanced Mobility Services (AMS).

OECON Products & Services is an active member of Gaia-X 4 AMS since June 2022.

Gaia-X 4 AMS focuses on the development of future mobility applications based on two use cases and their extension and testing with the Gaia-X data and service ecosystem that is already being established. Gaia-X 4 AMS aims to contribute to an open and transparent digital data ecosystem. To achieve this goal, two practical use cases in the area of “Operational Design Domain (ODD)” and “Automated and Connected Driving” are used to prototype that relevant vehicle technology applications can be mapped in a decentralized (federated) system architecture under the legal framework.

OECON is enabling innovative, data-centered traffic management and traffic optimization services as part of Gaia-X 4 AMS and sees this project as an opportunity to take current traffic organization technologies to the next level.

These services will not only make transportation more efficient and environmentally friendly, but will also enable seamless integration of autonomous cars into our daily transportation context and increase management efficiency, especially in terms of e-vehicle usage and the ability to communicate with vehicles through existing communication channels. To this end, OECON will equip its own route planner with traffic-based routing for electrically powered and self-driving vehicles.
